Posting limits

Every account has a limit to how many conversations and comments it can make every 30 minutes, 1 hour, and 1 day (24 hours). This is based on a sliding scale so you don't need to wait for 24 hours if you hit the daily limit. You only need to wait for 1 item to become older than 24 hours which will open one more spot.

Accounts that are new get half as many conversations and comments in each time frame. This is to help prevent spam from bad actors. Once your account is a week old, the half limit is removed and you can post more per day.

What are the limits?

Do some users get higher limits?

We also give a second 2x limit to news, robot, creator, and business accounts. This is due to them having to occasionally reply to more comments, like support requests or questions. Accounts in the categories listed are added only by staff, and abuse of the limits will result in loosing the account type or other account actions.
