Where is everything hosted?

We don’t store any data on US providers. So we wanted to share where we store everything. If it’s not in Canada or in our Penticton BC office server racks (yes we have our own servers also) it’s in the EU or security and privacy focused countries.

Will always work to make things better but your data is never stored in the US.

Servers

Hosted in Helsinki by Hetzner with strict Helsinki only grouping and local firewall rules.

CDN

CDN is provided by Bunny.net, based out of Slovenia a part of the EU with replication for cache disabled in the US. Requests at times can still proxy though to the main Hetzner servers from the closes edge server on Bunny.net side, and that can be in the USA. But when that happens it's TLS encrypted and sent to our EU servers where the data is actually stored.

Image & File Storage

File storage also uses Bunny.net with storage locations only set to Frankfurt and Stockholm both to make speed fast from Helsinki but also to keep out of the US.

Domains

Domain provider for our many domains we use was moved to the Canadian domain provider Hover.

Code Storage

Local server running Gitlab and public hosted source code on the public Gitlab service. In the process of moving the public code to a Hetzner server hosting it with Gitea.

Backups

Stored both internal on our servers in Canada in our office and also for quick replication within a Bunny.net private storage zone in Frankfurt and then downloaded locally.
